We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall dining experience of our guests. Duties Assist in the preparation of meals by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as needed. Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in food quality. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety standards. Support the culinary team with menu planning and meal preparation for daily service. Handle food items safely and efficiently, ensuring proper storage and labeling of ingredients. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. Participate in catering events as needed, assisting with food setup and presentation. Utilize knife skills effectively for various food preparations while maintaining safety protocols. Experience Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred. Background in menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and food service is highly desirable. Familiarity with food handling practices and safety regulations within the kitchen environment. Restaurant or culinary experience is an asset, particularly in fast-paced settings. Strong knife skills and knowledge of meal preparation techniques are essential. Experience in catering services is a plus, enhancing versatility within the role.
