Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and personable Receptionist to join our medical office team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative tasks. This role requires proficiency in medical terminology, strong communication skills, and the ability to navigate various electronic health record (EHR) systems. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression of the clinic. Manage multi-line phone systems, handling incoming calls with professionalism and courtesy. Schedule appointments and manage the clinic calendar efficiently to optimize patient flow. Verify patient insurance information and assist with insurance verification processes. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Process medical billing and coding using systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, and Dentrix. Review care plans and assist in the intake process for new patients. Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and maintaining organized office records. Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless patient service and care coordination. Handle patient inquiries regarding services, procedures, and office policies effectively. Experience Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a healthcare setting is preferred. Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding practices is essential. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance communication with diverse patient populations. Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite are required. Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are crucial for this position. Experience in medical billing, coding, or administrative support within a clinic or hospital environment is beneficial.
