Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Office Manager to join us. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills and a solid understanding of medical terminology, coding, and patient service. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing support to both patients and healthcare professionals while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities Assist in the daily operations of the medical office, including front desk duties and clerical tasks. Manage patient scheduling, ensuring efficient use of time slots while accommodating patient needs. Handle medical records management, including filing, documentation review, and maintaining confidentiality. Perform insurance verification and assist with medical billing processes. Utilize our EMR systems , eClinicalWorks for patient data entry and retrieval. Support medical collection efforts by following up on outstanding accounts as needed. Communicate effectively with patients regarding care plans, appointments, and insurance inquiries while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette. Maintain a clean and organized office environment to enhance patient experience. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation of patient information using CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-9 and ICD-10). Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology. Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks is highly desirable. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications; typing skills are essential (10 key typing preferred). Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
