A K-12 educational setting in Hayward, CA, is seeking a licensed professional to support students with visual impairments as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) and Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI). This full-time position is for the 2025-2026 school year, offered as a contracted, certificated school year (CSY) role.

Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction and intervention tailored to students with visual impairments to improve orientation, mobility, and independent functioning. Assess and monitor students visual needs and mobility skills. Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs). Provide consultative support and training to staff and parents on adaptive strategies and assistive technology use. Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements. Qualifications: Valid licenses and certifications in both Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) and Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS). Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments in an educational setting. Ability to work itinerantly and travel within the district. Commitment to in-person service delivery.
