A full-time opportunity is available for a licensed Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) and Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to serve K-12 students within an itinerant role in Oakland, CA. This contract position covers the 2025/2026 school year and requires in-person work throughout the district.

Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments to enhance their academic and functional capabilities Assess students orientation and mobility needs and develop individualized plans Collaborate closely with school staff, families, and related service providers to ensure optimal student outcomes Provide direct, itinerant services at various school locations across the district Qualifications: Valid license or certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) Experience working with K-12 students in a school-based environment Ability to work independently and manage a caseload while traveling to multiple school sites Strong communication and collaboration skills Additional Information: Full-time position preferred; part-time candidates may be considered to share caseloads evenly Strictly in-person role, no remote work option Contract position for the 2025/2026 academic year This role offers the chance to positively impact the lives of students with visual impairments by providing essential services in a dynamic educational setting.
