This full-time position is for a Special Education Teacher in a High School Transition program located in Bridgeport, CT. Key Responsibilities: Deliver instruction in life skills, employee development, functional living skills, and community access Collaborate closely with co-teaching staff, program coordinator, and social worker Develop tailored lesson plans to meet diverse student needs within the transition program Utilize resources available in the building, including speech-language pathology, psychology, occupational therapy, and physical therapy services Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly Desired Qualifications: Experience teaching Special Education at the high school level Familiarity with transition programs that emphasize life and employment skills Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team supporting student development Strong classroom management skills suitable for a non-behavioral student population Commitment to fostering student independence and community engagement Location: Bridgeport, CT This is a contract assignment with a calendar school year (CSY) duration.
