This role offers a unique opportunity to provide specialized speech and language therapy services within a high-needs K-12 school environment, supporting students across elementary, middle, and high school levels. The position requires onsite commitment for the 2025-2026 school year, working 35 hours per week from August 26, 2025, through June 9, 2026.

Key Responsibilities: Evaluate and provide targeted therapy for speech sound disorders, including articulation, phonological processing, fluency, and voice/resonance issues. Assess and treat receptive and expressive language disorders affecting spoken and written communication, addressing phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. Support students with social communication challenges related to verbal and nonverbal interactions, contextual adjustments, and conversational skills. Deliver interventions for cognitive-communication disorders impacting memory, attention, organization, problem-solving, and planning. Assess and manage swallowing disorders (dysphagia) to ensure safe feeding practices in the school setting. Provide aural rehabilitation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, enhancing auditory processing and communication. Implement augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for students with significant expressive or receptive language impairments. Offer communication enhancement services such as accent modification and public speaking skills development. Collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to integrate communication goals into students educational plans. Maintain comprehensive and timely documentation, including evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and IEPs in accordance with regulatory standards. Qualifications: Delaware Professional License or eligibility for certification with the Delaware Department of Education. Experience with AAC and swallowing disorders is highly desirable. Previous school-based experience is a plus but not required. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
