A specialized opportunity is available for a certified Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade. This itinerant role works across several school districts in the Newark, NY area, supporting the unique educational needs of DHH students in grades K-12.

Responsibilities: Deliver tailored instruction and support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, ensuring accessibility and inclusion Collaborate with administrators, speech therapists, and classroom teachers to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) Utilize proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate effectively with students and families Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs Travel between multiple school districts as required to meet student caseload needs Qualifications: Active New York State Teacher of the Deaf certification is mandatory Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Experience teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across K-12 grade levels preferred Strong communication and organizational skills for managing an itinerant caseload Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Location: Newark, NY area (itinerant assignments across surrounding districts) Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance plans 401(k) retirement savings plan Weekly pay for consistent income flow Contract position for the current school year (CSY) Candidates will undergo an initial phone screening with a recruiter prior to consideration by the districts.
