Accounts Receivable Specialist in Watertown Area

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will play a crucial role in managing customer invoices, handling past due accounts, and maintaining strong communication with clients. This position requires an individual who is detail-oriented and committed to achieving financial goals. Responsibilities: Deliver generated invoices to customers regularly through various channels such as mail, email, and customer portals. Contact customers regarding past due invoices and handle incoming calls related to questions or complaints, documenting all interactions. Manage all delinquent accounts until they are resolved. Communicate effectively with customers and management, maintaining strong relationships to achieve objectives. Research invoices against manual files or pre-arranged agreements as necessary. Collaborate with account managers, business centers, or higher management when accounts are deemed uncollectible at the department level. Perform summary billings for a predefined list of customers using Excel and other reporting tools, and prepare custom invoices as per customer requirements. Prepare credit notes and obtain necessary approvals. Maintain a delinquency rate of 5% or less and ensure unapplied cash is cleared from customer accounts by the end of the fiscal month. Assist in ad hoc projects as needed. Continuously improve processes by analyzing them and suggesting enhancements. Work collaboratively with both local and remote team members. Essential Skills: 1+ year experience with collections Two years of accounts receivable or similar experience Proficiency in Excel and Word General computer systems proficiency Additional Skills & Qualifications: Experience with accounting systems is a plus Knowledge of additional software or systems is beneficial Work Environment: This position is hybrid/remote, requiring the candidate to be within driving distance of Watertown, WI. The role requires collaboration with both local and remote teams, offering flexibility in work location. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of Watertown, Wisconsin. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
