School Social Worker
to join our student services team to help support the social-emotional and behavioral success of our students. Position Overview:
The School Social Worker plays a vital role in supporting students' mental health and social-emotional needs. This individual will work collaboratively with students, families, staff, and community organizations to remove barriers to learning and promote positive school engagement. Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct individual and group counseling to students.
Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans tailored to students' needs.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to promote academic and behavioral success.
Serve as a liaison between school, families, and outside agencies.
Participate in the development of IEPs and 504 plans as part of the multidisciplinary team.
Offer crisis intervention and support services as needed.
Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with district, state, and federal policies.
Qualifications:
Required: Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Work endorsement.
Strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed practices, and mental health.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred: Experience in a school or youth-serving setting.
Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) a plus.
Familiarity with restorative practices and SEL programming.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive weekly pay:
$40 $55 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
