A school in Washington Navy Yard, DC is seeking two dedicated Special Education Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year to work in self-contained Pre-K classrooms at the elementary level. Responsibilities: Plan, develop, and implement individualized educational programs tailored to students with special needs in a self-contained Pre-K classroom. Collaborate with families, therapists, and other educators to ensure a supportive learning environment. Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary to meet developmental goals. Maintain classroom management to foster a positive and engaging educational atmosphere. Comply with school, district, and federal guidelines related to special education services. Qualifications: Valid Special Education teaching licensure in accordance with state requirements. Experience working with Pre-K students in a special education setting preferred. Strong knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and instructional techniques suited for young children with diverse needs. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams. Work Schedule and Location: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 37.5 hours per week. Fully onsite at the specified Washington Navy Yard elementary school location.
