The schedule is structured as follows: Teacher of the Deaf (TOD) support: 2 days per week (Monday and Thursday) Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) services: 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday) Responsibilities include: Facilitating effective communication between the student, teachers, and peers in various settings Supporting the students use and understanding of ASL in alignment with family goals Collaborating with educational staff to adapt lessons and help the child access the curriculum Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times Desired qualifications and experience: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with certification as a Sign Language Interpreter Experience working with school-aged children, particularly in elementary settings Familiarity with deaf and hard-of-hearing students and cochlear implant technology Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team This role offers a meaningful opportunity to directly impact a child's educational experience and communication development.
