Provide specialized communication support for a 3rd-grade student with cochlear implants at an elementary school located in Marion, AL. This part-time role focuses on facilitating effective communication through American Sign Language (ASL) to enhance the student's learning experience, primarily relying on verbal communication but encouraged by parents to develop ASL skills.

Key Responsibilities: Interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa to support classroom interactions. Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure clear communication and student engagement. Assist the student during academic activities, promoting understanding and inclusion. Adapt interpretation techniques to suit the student's verbal communication abilities and cochlear implant use. Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in all interactions. Schedule: Total of 5 days per week during the full school year. 2 days focused on Targeted Outcome Development (TOD): Monday and Thursday. 3 days dedicated to Sign Language Interpretation (SLI): Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Qualifications: Proficiency in American Sign Language with certification preferred. Experience working with children in elementary education settings.
