A high school classroom is seeking a dedicated Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to lead instruction in a self-contained setting designed to support students with hearing impairments and additional learning needs. This contract position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering specialized education tailored to the unique requirements of high school students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Position Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) that address each students specific communication and academic needs. Deliver instruction in core subjects using accessible formats, differentiated strategies, and visual supports to enhance understanding. Utilize American Sign Language (ASL) and other relevant communication methods to facilitate full engagement and interaction within the classroom. Collaborate with support staff, families, and related service providers to ensure a cohesive educational experience. Qualifications and Experience: Illinois certification as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher is required. Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated ability to use ASL effectively in educational settings. Experience working within self-contained classrooms addressing diverse student needs. Strong knowledge of instructional strategies tailored for students with hearing impairments and multiple learning needs. Location: Aurora, Illinois (High School Setting) This role offers the chance to work with students who greatly benefit from focused and specialized instruction, in an engaging and supportive educational environment.
