Note:
This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel may be required. Duties and Responsibilities
Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriological tests. Examine and analyze body fluids and cells; match blood for transfusions. Maintain blood products in accordance with AABB requirements. Analyze chemical content of fluids and test for drug levels in blood. Prepare specimens, count cells, and identify abnormal cells in blood and body fluids. Analyze test results and communicate findings to physicians. Culture body fluids and tissue samples to detect microorganisms. Test samples for chemical content and determine concentrations of compounds like glucose and cholesterol. Evaluate test results, develop and modify procedures, and monitor testing programs for accuracy. Use universal safety precautions to handle biohazardous materials safely. Order and stock supplies; maintain a clean and safe work environment. Keep patient records, maintain equipment, and assist in lab management tasks. Provide supervision or act as Lead, guiding other technologists and technicians. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications
Completion of a formal Medical Technology training program leading to a Bachelor's Degree. Certification by AMT, ASCP, or NCA. Current BLS certification. At least five years of experience as a Medical Technologist. At least one year in a Lead role. Recent clinical experience in direct patient care within the last 6 months. Ability to multitask, be detail-oriented, organized, and communicate effectively. Proficiency with computers and MS Office. Flexibility to adapt to shift changes and operational needs. Strong problem-solving skills. Proficiency in English communication skills. Physical Requirements and Work Conditions
