Key Responsibilities: Deliver individualized and group instruction aligned with state standards for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Develop and implement specialized curriculum modifications and accommodations Utilize a variety of communication methods including sign language, assistive technology, and speech reading techniques Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech therapists and audiologists Provide consultation and support to general education staff regarding best practices and accommodations Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district and legal requirements Qualifications and Experience: Valid teaching credential with authorization for Deaf/Hard of Hearing education Experience working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred Strong understanding of auditory and visual learning strategies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to differentiate instruction and manage diverse learner needs Commitment to fostering an inclusive educational environment Location: Sacramento, California Position Type: Contract, Current School Year Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their application promptly to be considered for this valuable teaching opportunity focused on supporting students with hearing differences.
