General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets Customers courteously, follows company standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may perform a range of tasks in all areas of the Store as business needs require and may be assigned additional tasks to achieve customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

  • Safety is the number one priority; maintain a safe and secure shopping environment and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
  • Maintain a clutter-free sales floor with clear egress to emergency exits.
  • Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; greet customers and assist with merchandise and transactions, providing polite and knowledgeable service.
  • Provide prompt and efficient responses to Customer inquiries; escalate to Store Leadership when needed.
  • Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
  • Perform cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping surfaces, replenishing restroom supplies) to maintain cleanliness in merchandise, customer, and Team areas.
  • Maintain professional appearance and adhere to the Company's dress code.
  • Assist with daily merchandising: sizing and recovery per company best practices to maintain neat, clean, and organized stores.
  • Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandise items per monthly presentation guidelines, and maintain brand-name familiarity within departments to assist Customers.
  • Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
  • Safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise; demonstrate integrity in all interactions.
  • Follow MOS policies and proper processing for disposals; assist with cash, check, charge card, and refund transactions with accuracy.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and adhere to Store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

  • Effective communication with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements / ADA

  • Ability to use store equipment (PDTs, registers) as required.
  • Stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time.
  • Frequently bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, stoop; occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
  • Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
  • Stockroom shifts may require regularly pushing, pulling, and lifting more than 20 pounds.

The base pay range for this role is $15.00 - $15.50, dependent on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, and location. Additional benefits and total compensation vary by position and location.
