What You’ll Do
As an HR Consultant, you will provide high-quality, business-focused HR support to our members and clients. You will serve as a trusted advisor, helping organizations address challenges and improve their people strategies.
In this role, you will:
- Provide expert HR guidance in areas such as compliance, employee relations, performance, and talent development.
- Lead the development and implementation of customized, best-practice HR solutions by providing strategic support on a fractional or project basis, aligned with each client's unique needs.
- Conduct HR audits and offer practical, tailored recommendations.
- Develop and deliver educational training (conference/association presentations, webinars, etc.) based on a strong foundational knowledge of HR practices.
- Act as a thought leader and subject matter expert during networking events on behalf of ERC.
- Assist with member engagement, retention, and proactive outreach.
You will use a combination of ERC’s resources, research, and collaborative team support to help clients meet their HR and business goals.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
- 5+ years of hands-on and strategic HR management experience; direct client consulting experience a plus.
- Proven experience in leading best-in-class HR organizational practices.
- Thorough understanding of HR practices and employment law compliance.
- Excellent communication, organization, research, and human relation skills.
- Ability to become a trusted advisor to varying levels of client leadership.
- Demonstrates tact and clarity in sensitive situations to foster trust and guide resolution.
- Capable of delivering presentations and facilitating training sessions across various formats.
- PHR, SPHR, or SHRM certification preferred

Location, Travel & Benefits
Based in Beachwood, Ohio, this full-time role may require regular onsite client work across Northeast Ohio. The position is hybrid but requires frequent travel, with local travel estimated at around 75%.
