Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for deaf and hard of hearing students across K-12 grade levels. Provide direct instruction using specialized techniques, including auditory training, speech therapy support, and sign language as appropriate. Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, and support staff to integrate students effectively in general education settings. Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies to meet evolving needs. Communicate regularly with families to report on student development and engage them as partners in education. Qualifications: Valid teaching credential with certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education or equivalent. Experience teaching deaf and hard of hearing students in K-12 settings. Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities is highly desirable. Strong understanding of auditory development, speech and language acquisition in DHH students. Ability to work cooperatively within interdisciplinary teams and maintain effective communication with families.
