Job Title: Patient Services Representative I

The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is the face of the company to patients, whether they are visiting for routine health services or important health decisions. The PSR I is responsible for drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing, following established procedures. This role involves direct patient contact, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures and performing blood draws skillfully, safely, and accurately. The PSR I demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence and maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
  2. Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  3. Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties confidently, following established practices and procedures.
  4. Maintain required records and documentation.
  5. Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience required; 1+ years preferred.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience required.
