David's Bridal is hiring: Seasonal Alterations Specialist in Freehold

Overview

Seasonal Alterations Specialist role at David's Bridal during peak season. This is a seasonal position with weekend-focused hours and potential for continued involvement during peak times.

Responsibilities

• Welcome all customers with genuine, friendly enthusiasm over the phone, via virtual chats and in person. Communicate clearly, adapt style to suit customers, problem solve, and resolve conflicts with excellent phone skills.
• Use systems to manage customer flow and deliver a five-star customer experience.
• Maintain service levels by being prepared, welcoming, meeting needs, and addressing emotional and practical needs; complete operational checklist tasks and assist customers.
• Provide exceptional service to multiple customers simultaneously and contribute to Five-Star Customer Service metrics.
• Proactively address customer concerns with confidence; know when to escalate and partner with leadership.
• Explain how alterations contribute to dress perfection for events; promote alteration and personalization services.
• Assist stylists in closing sales by advising on gown fit and customization.
• Maintain store standards to support a flawless shopping experience and ensure dress code compliance.
• Greet and escort alterations customers to and from appointments.
• Inspect garments altered/steamed/pressed to verify pristine condition before delivery.
• Respond promptly to customer questions with product and service information.
• Build long-term relationships to meet and exceed customer satisfaction and loyalty.
• Assist with inventory tasks, including special orders and ensuring first-quality standards for merchandise.
• Ensure alteration pricing aligns with company standards.
• Manage alterations, fittings, sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot cleaning to company standards.
• Resolve customer service issues in line with company guidelines; support cash wrap processes and transactions accurately.
• Maintain an organized alterations room and perform duties as assigned by store management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years in retail in apparel or a specialty store
• Prior sewing experience, preferably bridal or special occasion production
• Prior experience with computerized POS is a plus
