Overview
Alterations Specialists are responsible for completing all fittings and alterations to the high standards of David’s Bridal and report to the Store Manager. They provide friendly, knowledgeable, and technical expertise and deliver superior customer service as a member of the store team.
Responsibilities
- Welcome all customers with genuine, friendly enthusiasm over the phone, virtually and in person; communicate clearly and concisely; adapt style to suit customers; problem solve, demonstrate excellent phone skills and resolve conflicts.
- Use all systems to manage customer flow to deliver a five-star customer experience.
- Maintain service levels by being Prepared, Welcoming, Meeting the Needs, and Being There for customers; complete operational checklist tasks and address emotional and practical needs.
- Provide exceptional service to multiple customers at once and contribute to Five-Star Customer Service.
- Proactively address customer concerns with confidence; know when to escalate and partner with leadership.
- Explain how alterations contribute to perfecting the dress for events; promote alteration services and personalization options.
- Assist stylists in closing sales by advising on gown fit and customization.
- Maintain store standards to support a flawless shopping experience.
- Follow dress code and maintain the alterations area in a clean, organized state.
- Greet and escort customers to and from alterations appointments; inspect garments altered/steamed/pressed for quality before delivery.
- Respond promptly to customer questions with product and service information; build long-term relationships to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
- Maintain inventory management for special orders and ensure first-quality standards for all merchandise.
- Ensure alteration pricing aligns with company standards; manage alterations, fittings, sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot cleaning to company standards.
- Resolve customer service issues in accordance with company guidelines; support cash wrap processes and process transactions accurately.
- Keep alterations room clean and well-organized; perform duties as assigned by store management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of retail experience in apparel or specialty store environment
- Prior sewing experience, preferably in bridal or special occasion production
- Prior experience with computerized POS is a plus
