Overview
This role is an onsite Lab Lead to support Portsmouth, RI Hardware Engineering labs. You will manage and implement engineering lab strategic projects and day-to-day administrative functions within multiple engineering labs, focusing on safety, security, and compliance using established doctrine and governance. You will collaborate with customers, employees, and senior leaders when implementing process and procedural changes.

What You Will Do
- Lab Operating Procedure (LOP) Management; provide direction for lab users on established policies
- Management coordination and implementation of Environmental Health Safety and Sustainment
- Property & Metrology Management including maintenance of equipment service contracts and ongoing equipment repairs
- Perform cost analysis, ensure task completion within approved budgets
- Provide process support to Supply Chain Management (SCM)
- Oversee audit/assessment preparation; oversee Engineering Lab Objective Evaluation and Voluntary Protection Program; develop corrective action plans and assist in the development of long-range objectives, including engineering customer goals
- Safeguard of classified/proprietary material, hardware, and documentation, utilizing defense material/property under Export Administration Regulations
- Develop and implement communication plans, providing consulting support to functional and engineering customer management
- Work to influence stakeholders within and outside responsible area at an operational level regarding policies, practices, and procedures
- Work autonomously with limited oversight; provide professional input, guidance, and problem solving
- Provide technical support to programs including cable builds, CCA build and troubleshooting, mechanical assembly
- This position requires some physical exertion while standing, sitting, or walking, working outside
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
- Experience in an engineering lab environment area such as safety, security, compliance and/or property management
- Process creation and management for an Engineering or similar environment
- Managing Environmental Health and Safety standards
Qualifications We Prefer
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical/electronic skills
- Experience with OSHA/NFPA industrial policies and regulations
- Experience with working directly with engineers, technicians and leadership in an engineering lab environment in the areas of safety, security, compliance and property management
- Experience with EHS, NISPOM, JAFAN and Foreign Object Elimination
- Experience with cable builds, CCA assembly, and mechanical assembly
- Solder experience
- Experience building positive, lasting relationships with customers
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Salary range: 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, PTO, and holidays. Benefits vary by business unit and bargaining agreement status.
