Position: Accounting Manager

Position Summary

The Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting team and ensure the accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of all financial operations. This individual will play a key leadership role in process improvement, internal controls, and systems alignment (including ERP and CRM integrations) to support the company’s aggressive growth trajectory. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Manager will partner cross-functionally to deliver financial clarity and alignment with company strategy.

Travel Expectations

  • Occasional overnight travel required (3–5 nights per quarter).
  • Travel to partner facilities for training and education.
  • Travel to regional offices for team training and collaboration.
  • Initial 90-day onboarding/training period will involve heavier travel (based in Houston).

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Lead, coach, and mentor accounting team members.
    • Host weekly team check-ins and one-on-ones.
    • Drive accountability to deadlines and deliverables.
    • Foster a culture of ownership, accuracy, and collaboration.
  • Financial Oversight & Reporting
    • Manage the monthly close process and prepare financial statements.
    • Oversee budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
    • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of AP/AR functions.
    • Review commission reporting through CRM and validate results.
    • Analyze and present financial data, insights, and trends to leadership.
  • Controls & Compliance
    • Develop and enforce accounting policies and SOPs.
    • Maintain reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger integrity.
    • Partner with external auditors for audits and compliance reviews.
    • Ensure adherence to GAAP and regulatory standards.
  • Process Improvement & Systems
    • Streamline workflows and drive automation opportunities.
    • Support ERP and CRM integrations for greater efficiency.
    • Lead reporting and data visibility initiatives to scale with growth.
  • Cross-Functional & Strategic Alignment
    • Partner with leadership on financial projections, reporting, and audits.
    • Participate in company-wide meetings and initiatives.
    • Provide financial insights to support business growth.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP (Sage or similar) and CRM (Salesforce or similar).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel or data analytics/reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base pay range: $90,000/yr - $100,000/yr
