Overview
Airgas is hiring for an Account Executive in Tulsa, OK or Springfield, MO (based in either location). This role involves managing and growing key client relationships in the welding and industrial gases sector, driving revenue growth by understanding customer needs and providing comprehensive solutions across welding processes, industrial gases, and welding hard goods.

Responsibilities
- Identify business opportunities and cultivate strategic accounts in metal fabrication, HVAC/industrial gases, and related sectors.
- Develop and negotiate contracts; submit sales activity reports (via Salesforce) including weekly itineraries to the Regional President.
- Build and maintain lists of prospective customers for sales leads.
- Develop negotiating strategies by analyzing integration of new business with company strategies and operations, assessing risks and customer needs.
- Demonstrate products to customers and serve as liaison on pricing, product details, delivery, payments, and service inquiries.
- Market and expand the company’s reputation by delivering value to the customer experience.
- Submit month-end, expense, and mileage reports accurately and on time.
- Continuously update knowledge through education, industry publications, and professional networks; adhere to safety procedures and rules.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Welding), or a related technical field.
Technical Expertise: This role requires proficiency in:
- Welding Processes: SMAW, GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG, FCAW, SAW; cutting processes including Plasma, Oxy-Fuel, and Laser; robotic/automated welding; welding metallurgy basics.
- Industrial Gases: Knowledge of common welding gases (Argon, CO2, Oxygen, Acetylene, Nitrogen, Hydrogen, Helium), gas applications, gas delivery systems, and safety protocols.
- Hard Goods (Welding Equipment & Consumables): Welding machines (inverters, transformers, multi-process), consumables (electrodes, filler metals, flux), safety equipment (PPE), and welding accessories.
- Automation & Robotics: Familiarity with robotic welding cells and automation concepts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree (MBA or relevant engineering discipline) is advantageous for career progression and strategic account management.
- Certifications (beneficial): AWS CWI, CSP, or other industry-specific certifications.
