Job Description Investment Operations Manager (Hybrid, Boston)
A successful Endowment in Boston is actively seeking an Investment Operations Manager to join their team. This person will play a key role in supporting the operational, financial, and reporting functions of a sophisticated investment portfolio. This individual is responsible for portfolio accounting and performance reporting, cash management, operational due diligence, audit and tax support, and additional office functions.
Responsibilities: Portfolio Operations & Reporting
Lead monthly accounting close and oversee performance reporting
Monitor portfolio performance calculations and ensure data accuracy
Manage fund onboarding, subscription documents, and document systems
Liaise with third-party administrator and oversee portfolio transparency tools
Cash Management
Monitor daily cash activity and maintain reconciliations
Support cash components of rebalancing activities
Maintain internal cash dashboard and lead weekly reporting
Audit & Tax Support
Assist with the annual audit and review of investment financial statements
Support investment-related tax matters (e.g., 990-T prep, K-1 reviews, net investment income)
Coordinate with external tax advisors as needed
Operational Due Diligence
Support operational due diligence for external investment managers
Maintain diligence calendar and assist in scheduling reviews
Analysis & Reporting
Complete quarterly and annual industry surveys
Prepare monthly internal budget reports
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
5+ years of experience in investment operations or accounting
Asset management background , CPA a plus
Comfortable working in a small, team-oriented environment
Must be willing to work on a hybrid schedule 4X in Boston
