Segrera Associates is partnering with a financial planning and investment management firm. As the accounting manager, you will be a critical member of the finance team, ensuring accurate accounting, reporting, and financial management across the firm. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will oversee the full accounting cycle—from daily transactions to month-end close—while providing insights and support for strategic decision-making. This role offers the opportunity to partner with leadership, contribute to process improvements, and strengthen the financial operations of a growing and highly respected firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting activities including posting accounts payable, accounts receivable, and deposits
  • Prepare and process checks, electronic payments, and expense reimbursements
  • Maintain accounting schedules such as accruals, fee income, and assets under management (AUM)
  • Assist CFO with month-end close, preparation of financial statements, and the firm’s annual audit, including consolidated financials and auditor requests
  • Support the preparation and monitoring of the firm’s annual budget
  • Partner with leadership to complete corporate insurance applications and renewals
  • Prepare quarterly, annual, and ad hoc financial distributions
  • Assist in preparing and submitting reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain employee variable compensation calculations and reporting
  • Support completion of annual workers’ compensation audits across offices
  • Prepare recurring reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management review

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Previous accounting and/or bookkeeping experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar required)
  • Experience with CRM and payroll systems (preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
