General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. Duties include greeting customers, maintaining a clean work area, ensuring proper merchandise presentation, and performing a range of tasks across store areas as business needs require. Associates may be asked to perform additional tasks to achieve customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Safety is the number one priority; practice safe behaviors and maintain a safe sales floor and store environment.
- Maintain clutter-free, clear egress to emergency exits; report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treat customers and associates with respect; greet customers and maintain professionalism at all times.
- Assist customers: register-trained, answer questions politely and knowledgeably; greet customers with eye contact, smiles and courtesy throughout the store.
- Provide prompt responses to customer service needs and escalate to Store Leadership when necessary.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks and replenish restrooms; maintain cleanliness of front-end, sales floor and team areas.
- Maintain professional appearance and follow dress code.
- Perform daily sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, clean, and merchandised to standards.
- Expedite new merchandise to the sales floor in accordance with monthly presentation guidelines and brand familiarity within departments.
- Understand Loss Prevention, MOS policies, and merchandise protection standards.
- Demonstrate integrity and safeguard confidential information and merchandise.
- Adhere to cash handling procedures and maintain accuracy with transactions.
- Demonstrate urgency and maximize productivity by following store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Effective communication with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements/Ada
- Ability to use store equipment, stand/walk for extended periods, and move around the store.
- Regular bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching and stooping.
- Occasional pushing, pulling, and lifting more than 25 pounds. Some shifts may require lifting more than 20 pounds for stockrooms.
