In accordance with the Agreement between the Organization of School Administrators and Supervisors (OSAS) and the Board of Education of the School District of the City of Detroit, the following vacancy is announced.
Position Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled analytical and detail-oriented Program Associate II to join our Ancillary Team. This will consist of working closely with the ancillary department: schools, district wide evaluation center, district evaluators, data tracking/monitoring, scheduling, payroll, budget, and collaboration with the various ancillary departments and staff.
The Program Associate II will be responsible for actively monitoring student referral intake via feeder pattern links, develop systems to maintain the accuracy of the referrals for compliance with federal, state, county, and district mandates. The Program Associate will build and cultivate relationships with a variety of internal/external stakeholders. Perform administrative and technical support for operations and data reporting/analysis. The Program Associate II is responsible for supporting significant cross-functional initiatives in a diverse and multi-level organizational setting and contributes to the efficient operations of the department. Must demonstrate exceptional analytical skills and maintain the highest standards of student data privacy and security.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. Candidates may be considered with a combination of prior relevant experience and credits toward a BA. Minimum of three (3) years of administrative experience (prior experience with Exceptional Student Education preferred) Comprehensive knowledge of the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated leadership skills in prior professional role(s) Experience working in urban school system is strongly preferred Experience in data security and student information systems (preferred) Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point) Prior experience with student information and Medicaid Billing (preferred) Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy Highly organized, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment Quick learner with a proactive mindset and accountability for outcomes
Essential Functions: Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly compliance reports of District and ESE Leadership to ensure referrals are processed timely Enroll untraditional student into PowerSchool School Information System Input student information to PowerSchool Special Programs Maintain accurate time, attendance and payroll records for ancillary central office staff Facilitate processing of purchasing requisitions and assist with logistical resources for meetings, workshops, and conferences Perform complex administrative and technical tasks of confidential nature and other duties as assigned by the ESE Administrator/Supervisor Organize professional development opportunities through virtual, in-person, and blended learning modules based on data trends and staff needs. Communicate with various stakeholders to schedule evaluation appointments, follow up on concerns and request documentation. Perform other duties as assigned.
