Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm) Hours per Week:
40 Contract Duration:

Minimum 5 years of pediatric diabetes care and education experience Active South Carolina RN license or Registered Dietitian (RD) with Master's degree (license must be active before start) Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master's in Nutrition/Dietetics Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) required Pump training certification with Omnipod and/or Tandem preferred BLS certification required Experience with Epic EMR system preferred First-time travel healthcare professionals welcome Key Responsibilities - Pediatric Diabetes Educator
Independently manage daily diabetes education and care visits for pediatric patients in a clinical and school setting Deliver comprehensive diabetes education on insulin management, glucose monitoring, nutrition, physical activity, and diabetes technology Conduct at least 5 patient visits per day, assessing self-management skills and reinforcing individualized care plans Collaborate with endocrinologists, nurse practitioners, dietitians, and nurses to ensure quality pediatric care Guide families in developing and adjusting diabetes care strategies for home, school, and extracurricular activities Support patients and families with insurance, diabetes equipment, and prescription needs Provide ongoing communication and follow-up to address questions and urgent diabetes care issues Maintain accurate EMR documentation in compliance with ADA, CMS, and institutional guidelines Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff education on pediatric diabetes care standards
