Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a WA or compact license and proficiency in caring for diverse patient populations across all ages.

Responsibilities Position based in the Emergency Department of a community hospital 12-hour rotating shifts covering days, mids, evenings, nights, or variable schedules Treat patients from neonates to geriatrics including trauma (falls, GSW, MVAs), sepsis, COVID, STEMI, stroke, DKA, respiratory, cardiac, neurological and occasional mental illness cases 30% pediatric patient population; may occasionally assist with emergency labor and delivery, with prompt transfer to higher care Hospital has 58 beds with 19 dedicated ER rooms, 4 fast track bays, and hallway overflow as needed Utilizes Epic for charting, Alaris and Pyxis systems, as well as central and bedside telemetry monitoring at the nursing station Floating may be required to upstairs units as a nurse extender or to Auburn RNs may care for a broad spectrum of emergencies but will not handle ICU cases, invasive neuro procedures, craniotomies, or Cath lab cases No on-call requirements Royal blue or navy blue scrubs required; black pants also permitted Staff will participate in mock drills and receive education for rare labor and delivery events Centralized telemetry monitoring at the nursing station; there is no dedicated telemetry technician High acuity, complex, and ventilated patients are stabilized for transfer rather than admitted Holiday and weekend coverage may be required

Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required First-time travelers considered if they have 4 or more years ED experience Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, MOAB or CPI, NIHSS, NRP, and PALS (ENPC not accepted) Demonstrated ability in cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, emergency medication administration, conscious sedation, blood administration, cardiac medication management, and experience handling actual code blue situations Competency with chest tubes, managing central lines (A-lines, CVP), ventilator management, and ability to stabilize high-acuity patients for transfer Preferred experience in TNK administration
