Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 12-hour night shift Emergency Department position at a Level III Trauma Center, requiring a WA or compact RN license and at least two years of ED experience.
Responsibilities Work in a busy Emergency Department within a Level III Trauma Center Unit has 46 beds including 5 safe psych rooms and a fast track area Serves patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics, including trauma, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, COVID, and mental health cases High geriatric patient population, with an average of 200 patients per day Day shift nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5, flexing as needed by acuity and staffing Uses Epic for charting and Alaris/Pyxis for medication and equipment management Central and bedside telemetry monitoring at the nursing station 12-hour night shifts with varying weekend requirements based on unit needs No floating or on-call requirements Support structure includes ER techs, charge nurse, resource/float nurse, RT, ED educator, 24/7 security, house supervisor, social work, and pharmacy Orientation includes NEO, Epic training if needed, mental health area introduction, and a precepted 12-hour clinical shift Scrub color is flexible as long as attire is professional Professional appearance regarding piercings and tattoos is required Free designated parking is available for staff Holiday coverage requires working two out of five major holidays Team-oriented, traveler-friendly work environment First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Requirements Active WA or compact RN license Minimum two years of recent emergency department experience Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and CPI or MOAB certifications Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, and emergency drips and medication administration Experience with procedural sedation, blood administration, and TNK administration preferred Traveler telemetry competency exam must be completed and passed prior to start
