This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of onsite at Campus and remote. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices, policies and procedures; researches, analyzes and develops solutions to a wide range of issues. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Primarily deals with policies, programs and proposals which are complex in nature and diverse in scope. Develops new programs, policies or procedures for possible implementation. Under general direction of the Executive Director of the Labor Center, the Research Manager will oversee the organization's research programs as well as provide on-site research guidance and management to Labor Center-related field sites which will span a diverse range of regions to support the Labor Center's research activities with partners across the San Diego and Imperial Counties. In addition to developing, managing, and implementing the Labor Center's research initiatives, the Research Manager will collaborate with the Executive Director to enhance research, policy analysis, and grant development in support of unions and community organizations. Participates in strategic planning of research programs with principal and field/site collaborators. Moreover, the Research Manager will be instrumental in nurturing the development of up-and-coming researchers from diverse backgrounds and expanding the research capabilities of collaborating organizations.
