Overview

The General Manager (GM) plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the daily operations, long-term strategy, and profitability of the company. This role ensures that both Service and New Construction divisions operate efficiently, customers receive high-quality service, and the team is motivated, trained, and aligned with company goals. The GM holds full P&L responsibility, driving financial results through operational excellence, cost management, and revenue growth. The GM directly manages multiple Supervisor and Manager roles within the company. Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategic Management Set and execute company goals in alignment with the Owner’s vision. Oversee operational performance and resource allocation across Service and New Construction departments. Provide direct leadership, guidance, and performance management to the Field Supervisor, Office Manager, and Service Manager, ensuring alignment with company standards and strategic priorities. Develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and high customer satisfaction. Hold full P&L accountability, including budgeting, forecasting, expense control, and profitability tracking. Identify and implement opportunities for training, professional development, and cross-functional collaboration. Partner with department heads to align strategies and workflows. Operational & Workflow Management (New Construction) Manage end-to-end workflow for New Construction projects, including scheduling, coordination, and quality control. Design and organize new construction job plans, run estimates, and prepare bids. Coordinate with builders, schedule site meetings, and prepare the team for installations. Order job materials, parts, and inventory as needed (transitioning to Field Supervisor). Pull required permits and schedule inspections in compliance with local and state requirements (transitioning to Field Supervisor). Assign leads, helpers, and teams for New Construction projects. Manage issues as they arise on job sites to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met. Marketing & Business Development Oversee the company’s marketing activities, including advertising, promotions, and commercials. Coordinate and attend marketing events to generate brand visibility and customer leads. Develop builder relationships to expand business opportunities. Track marketing ROI and adjust strategies for maximum effectiveness. Customer Experience & Quality Control Serve as point of escalation for customer concerns and complaints for both Service and New Construction. Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded during all stages of engagement. Work with Field Supervisors to implement quality check and site meeting training. Lead recruitment efforts, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring team members. Manage performance reviews, raises, and disciplinary actions, including termination when necessary. Oversee training plans in collaboration with department leaders to ensure staff skills meet company standards. Maintain staffing levels for optimal efficiency and productivity. Act as primary contact with supply houses and negotiate pricing and terms. Monitor vendor performance, ensuring timely delivery and quality of materials. Qualifications & Skills Valid Contractors Class A License 5+ years of leadership experience in residential HVAC, construction, or similar trades. Proven success in managing operations, staff, and budgets. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to lead and inspire teams. Proficient in project management, scheduling, and workflow optimization. Knowledge of building codes, permitting, and HVAC systems. Marketing and business development experience preferred. Must be able to pass compliant FCRA background check as well as driving records check. Seniority level
