Overview

Construction Management Business Class Director (Water Business Group) at HDR. The role provides national strategic focus to position HDR as a preferred provider for construction services in the water infrastructure industry. The Director leads CM business development, project delivery, and group leadership/communication, captures best practices and tools, and reports to the WBG Service Delivery Director. Responsibilities

Business Development: Maintain market intelligence on industry competition, potential partners, acquisitions and new hires; capture HDR and competition SOQs, proposals, presentations, and scopes of work with fees; ensure regions maintain CM pursuit target lists and client maintenance plans; support capture planning, preproposal visits, qualifications and proposal preparation; provide marketing support to improve HDR’s pursuit success; maintain a list of major CM/PM projects; manage tool kits and SharePoint sites; implement presentation/interview training workshops for Senior Construction Managers. Project Delivery: Capture and disseminate lessons learned; ensure use of HDR best practices, templates, and protocol; collaborate with other directors to deliver existing projects and plan the water construction services program; provide principal-level project management and issue resolution; track costs vs. budget and apply lessons learned; maintain resources and perform CM resource planning; lead PARR reviews and train staff to be Lead Reviewers; conduct occasional site audits; promote RAKEN Field Reporting App and update HDR Technical Guidelines; manage Newforma Construction Administration software usage and CMIS questions; update the HDR Construction Management Manual and related forms and checklists. Leadership and Communications: Reinvigorate the CM Practice Community; coordinate with Field Services and other leaders; engage with CMAA (including HDR as a CMAA Board member), manage dues and sponsorships, and identify projects for CMAA awards; ensure CM staff development and training programs. Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering with 15+ years in managing construction delivery programs for the water infrastructure industry; PE or related professional certifications desirable; position location: any US HDR office. Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a professional, architecture, engineering or closely related field; minimum 10 years of related experience; professional or engineering registration and related technical experience; experience in developing and managing diverse teams; ability to work cooperatively with other business group leaders; commitment to quality, HDR values, and employee-owned culture. Compensation range for this role is $163,422–$324,250, depending on skills, experience, education, and location.
