Job Summary

The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) performs

vital specimen collection and patient-facing tasks

in a clinical diagnostic setting. Responsible for drawing and preparing blood samples, the PSR I ensures a professional, confidential, and accurate experience while maintaining safety and service excellence. Flexibility for rotating shifts, Saturdays, and EMR system use is expected.

Key Responsibilities

Collect high-quality blood specimens in compliance with lab standards. Label tubes with patient verification present. Maintain safety, professionalism, and HIPAA compliance. Enter patient data using EMR systems. Adjust to various shift schedules and weekend rotation. Demonstrate proficiency with straight needle use. Promote positive experiences for patients and maintain accurate documentation. Required Experience

High school diploma or equivalent. At least 6 months of phlebotomy experience (1+ years preferred). Data entry and computer skills (EMR experience required). Customer service experience in healthcare or service industry. Nice-to-Have Experience

Medical assistant or paramedic training. Experience using straight needles and handling high-volume collections. Required Skills

Pediatric and geriatric phlebotomy Independent, error-free task execution Strong verbal communication Reliability in varied shift and weekend settings Preferred Skills

Ability to float across multiple facilities Familiarity with patient management platforms and electronic documentation Additional Skills

Adaptability and flexibility under changing staffing needs Professionalism in patient-facing roles Strong attention to confidentiality
