The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as a
key liaison between patients and diagnostic services , ensuring high-quality sample collection, professional interactions, and timely processing. The role involves performing skilled phlebotomy procedures in various clinical settings and maintaining a patient-centered approach in all interactions.
Key Responsibilities
Draw blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collections per protocol. Verify patient identification and label specimens in their presence. Maintain documentation and ensure accuracy in records and lab processes. Create a professional, safe, and welcoming environment for patients. Cover multiple locations when needed and adjust to shifting staffing needs. Support training and onboarding depending on trainer availability. Required Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. Three (3) years of phlebotomy experience including pediatric and geriatric draws. Two (2) years of experience in a patient service center preferred. Keyboard/data entry experience. Customer service background in healthcare or retail settings preferred. Nice-to-Have Experience
Training as a medical assistant or paramedic. Mobile phlebotomy or multi-location clinical work. Required Skills
Advanced venipuncture across age ranges Independent judgment and decision-making Multitasking in high-volume clinical environments Strong patient communication and HIPAA compliance Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (if applicable) Preferred Skills
Flexible scheduling (weekends, holidays, on-call) Experience with confidential patient data systems Familiarity with multiple lab settings or specimen types Additional Skills
