13 weeks Shifts:
Rotating 12-hour shifts (3x12 per week), including days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) and nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) Hours per Week:
36 Weekend Requirement:
4 weekend shifts per 4-week period; holiday rotation required Floating:
May float within scope to meet facility needs Patient Ratios:
1:2, 1:3, or 1:4 depending on acuity NICU Registered Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent Level IV NICU RN experience (Level III considered case by case) Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact State Registered Nurse License (must be active prior to start) BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required Proficiency with EPIC charting or similar electronic medical record (EMR) systems Advanced NICU nursing skills: ventilator management, central line care, arterial line management, neonatal medication administration First-time travel nurses not accepted NICU RN Responsibilities
Deliver individualized, goal-directed nursing care to neonates and their families using the nursing process Monitor, assess, and manage premature and critically ill infants, including those requiring ECMO/CRRT and surgical intervention Administer medications, manage ventilators (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), and provide nutritional support (bottle, breast, gavage feedings) Perform and manage arterial and central lines, UAC/UVC, and IV vasopressors Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive neonatal care and support infant home monitoring programs Float to other nursing units within scope as needed to support facility operations Participate in holiday and weekend rotations as scheduled
