The
Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative
II (PSR II) is the
face of the diagnostic services team , drawing blood and preparing specimens while ensuring a
safe, confident, and professional patient experience . This role requires strong phlebotomy skills, excellent customer service, and attention to accuracy and confidentiality. Assignments may be in physician offices, patient service centers, or other collection sites.
Key Responsibilities
Perform blood collection, specimen processing, and data verification according to procedures. Deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Ensure all patient specimens are properly labeled in the patient's presence. Maintain accurate records and documentation per regulations. Adhere to health and safety protocols, dress codes, and quality standards. Travel between locations as needed with minimal notice. Communicate effectively with patients, team members, and supervisors. Maintain professionalism and a positive public image at all times. Required Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections). Experience with data entry and keyboarding. Customer service background (retail/service industry preferred). Nice-to-Have Experience
2 years in a Patient Service Center or similar environment. Medical assistant or paramedic training. Phlebotomy certification preferred (not required in TX). Required Skills
Excellent phlebotomy and specimen handling skills Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (if applicable) Ability to multitask and work independently Strong verbal communication and customer service Preferred Skills
Pediatric and geriatric blood draw experience Bilingual language skills (English/Spanish) Additional Skills
Flexible availability for weekends, holidays, and overtime Ability to adapt to high-volume clinical settings Strong organizational commitment and confidentiality awareness
