Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Stepdown RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Richmond, Virginia. This role offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and support from a dedicated clinical team.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data; respond to abnormalities
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments with a focus on cardiac care
  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians during cardiac-related procedures
  • Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients
  • Document nursing history and physical assessments for telemetry patients
  • Initiate patient education plans focused on cardiac health and risk factors
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care
  • Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice

Qualifications

Required

  • One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN
  • Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
  • Current ACLS Certification (AHA/ARC)

Preferred

  • Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification
  • NIHSS Certification
  • Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

  • English language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; PC skills
  • Physical ability to move and assist with equipment (50-100 lbs)
  • Ability to work with a diverse team and maintain professionalism
  • Technical/motor skills to assist with procedures and operate department equipment
  • Ability to cope with deadlines, shifts, and detail-oriented work
  • Sensory acuity and effective communication
