To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the basic requirements and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or licensing may be referred and tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met previous qualification standards at initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements. Basic Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed if qualified citizens cannot be recruited, per VA policy. Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an approved school. Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S. Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty (Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging), leading to eligibility for board certification. Residents enrolled in accredited residency programs are eligible for appointment as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs), who must be fully licensed physicians but are not considered independent practitioners. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Preferred: Board Certification in Diagnostic Radiology. Must pass a VA pre-employment physical exam, including physical and visual requirements, and mental stability assessments. Duties
This is an open continuous announcement, with eligible applicants referred until vacancies are filled. Provide general diagnostic radiology services including radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, and MRI. Consult with referring clinical services. Supervise administration of medications, including contrast agents.
