Overview

Join a medium-sized company known for producing overhead cranes and engaging in job shop work, including systems up to 100 feet long. As a Welding Lead, you will be responsible for welding metal components together using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts, plant equipment, and small and large structural weldments. You will serve as the first line go-to person on the shop floor for fabrication issues, leveraging your welding experience and print reading skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead welding and fabrication tasks on the shop floor.
  • Read and interpret prints for accurate fabrication.
  • Utilize MIG welding and assembly techniques to produce and repair products.
  • Ensure quality and safety standards are met during fabrication processes.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve fabrication issues.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as a Welding Lead.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding and fabrication.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in structural welding.
  • Strong leadership skills to guide and assist team members.

Work Environment

The work environment regularly exposes employees to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection are required and provided. Work takes place in facilities with very large ceilings and efficient venting systems to ensure safety and comfort.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
