Essential Functions

  • Understand that safety is the number one priority and practice safe behaviors in all duties.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe, secure shopping environment; keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
  • Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; greet Customers, and acknowledge them with eye contact and a smile.
  • Assist Customers as needed—be register-trained, help with merchandise, and answer questions politely and knowledgeably.
  • Provide prompt and efficient responses to Customer needs; respond to service calls and escalate issues to Store Leadership when needed.
  • Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
  • Perform cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies) to maintain store cleanliness and presentation.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the Company dress code.
  • Perform daily sizing and recovery per company best practice to ensure a neat, clean, organized store that is well-merchandised to standards.
  • Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandise items per monthly presentation guidelines; maintain brand familiarity within departments to assist Customers.
  • Understand Loss Prevention awareness programs and merchandise protection standards.
  • Safeguard confidential information, cash and credit card information, and merchandise; uphold integrity and honesty in all interactions.
  • Follow MOS (Miss-Out-of-Stock) policies, identify MOS merchandise, and process adjustments with Store Leadership approval for disposals.
  • Follow policies and procedures for cash, check, charge card, refunds, voids, and offline transactions; maintain accuracy with bankable tenders.
  • Demonstrate urgency to maximize productivity and minimize steps in workflow.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

  • Effective communication with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, cooperative manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements / ADA

  • Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop; occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
  • Stockroom shifts may require lifting more than 20 pounds.
