Overview

This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Headquarters, Activity Based Costing and Reimbursable Programs, located in Washington, D.C. Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above. In this position, you will strengthen the Department’s ability to perform homeland security functions by developing policies, conducting special studies, and providing technical assistance. Typical duties include: Developing, selecting, adapting, and employing advanced qualitative and quantitative techniques, methods, procedures and systems to analyze, evaluate, and/or improve the efficiency of internal administrative operations, organizations, or management Conducting in-depth studies, reviews, evaluations, and assessments of program issues and proposals assigned; interpreting findings and coordinating with key participants for long-range planning and development of strategies to meet objectives Preparing comprehensive status reports, summaries, and briefing papers identifying problems and recommending solutions while reconciling data Formulating and recommending policies or procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of current program operations Developing internal operating procedures and resolving functional conflicts and internal problems Salary starts at $101,401.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $131,826.00 (GS-12, Step 10). Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level with 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Developing and applying techniques to analyze and improve internal administrative operations Conducting in-depth studies and assessments of program issues Recommending strategies to improve program implementation and evaluations Reviewing and evaluating established program policies and procedures to identify gaps Developing internal operating procedures and resolving internal conflicts NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement.
