Position Overview
The Director of Corporate Accounting is responsible for overseeing all aspects of corporate accounting, ensuring compliance with GAAP and FERC regulations, and leading the accounting team to achieve financial accuracy and efficiency. This role will play a key part in strategic financial planning and decision-making within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the corporate accounting team, providing guidance and support in daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and FERC regulations and prepare for audits.
- Manage the preparation of financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
- Oversee the budgeting process and monitor financial performance against targets.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls.
- Collaborate with other departments to support business objectives and financial strategies.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the accounting team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience with GAAP and FERC regulations is essential.
- Prior experience in a Big 4 accounting firm is a strong advantage.
- Proven skills in audit management and personnel management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
