Overview
Role Summary/Purpose: We are looking for a passionate and seasoned marketing professional to lead the Lifecycle Marketing team within the Health and Wellness vertical at Synchrony Financial. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role will define the vision for Lifecycle marketing resources and technology stack, implement strategic planning processes, elevate insights and analytics, and streamline marketing functions to align with business objectives. This role will lead and mentor a high-performing team. Responsibilities
Process Management: Simplify Lifecycle Marketing’s strategic workflows. Develop, manage, and optimize automated and systematic processes for strategic planning, project and campaign workflows, and stakeholder approvals. Gain efficiency through consistent and compliant processes, ensuring upstream strategic work aligns with downstream execution and that workflows are connected for optimum efficiency. Financial Management: Oversee $160mm+ Marketing budget and prioritize spend. Manage resources with alignment to enterprise financial requirements, including revenue and profitability goals. Establish fiscal-year budget accountability and implement scenario planning for resource prioritization and allocation for an 80+ person org. Ensure marketing technology tools support budget management, reporting, and analysis in line with enterprise finance requirements. Performance Management: Evaluate Marketing’s Impact. Manage Lifecycle marketing’s performance and the value it delivers; ensure campaigns are aligned with business goals and optimize ROI. Lead and manage martech stack strategy and roadmap. Ensure well-orchestrated customer journeys and digital experiences, and aid productivity with GenAI where applicable. Talent Management: Lead Marketing Learning Agenda. Upskill onmartech (e.g., GenAI usage) and soft skills (e.g., strategic thinking). Ensure best practices for a progressive marketing organization and provide training on emerging technologies, data capabilities, multichannel platforms, and digital asset management. Resource Management: Scale Marketing’s Resources and Agency Roster. Manage lifecycle marketing resources, external vendors, suppliers, and the agency roster. Plan for capacity and resource scalability; develop an ecosystem to support a growing, evolving strategy, including in-house production resources where relevant. Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or, in lieu of a degree, a high school equivalent plus 15+ years executive marketing leadership experience. 10+ years in areas such as consumer credit cards, healthcare, or direct marketing with a focus on lifecycle marketing and promotions. Proven experience in both B2B and B2C financial services with a track record of marketing strategies for diverse customer segments. 7+ years of experience planning, designing, building, or running business functions or processes; 7+ years of managerial responsibility. Desired Characteristics
Proven track record in developing and implementing strategic marketing plans that align with business objectives and drive growth. Strong understanding of financial management, budget management, resource allocation, and cost optimization. Data analysis and reporting skills to leverage insights for decision-making. Deep knowledge of martech stacks (CRM, marketing automation, analytics); ability to manage martech strategy and roadmap. Leadership experience in mentoring, developing high-performing teams, and fostering continuous learning and strategic thinking. Experience leading learning agendas for upskilling in emerging technologies such as GenAI and essential soft skills. Excellent collaboration with cross-functional teams and strong communication skills. Compensation and Eligibility
Grade/Level: 15. Salary range: 200,000.00 - 330,000.00 USD Annual. Eligible for Annual Incentive Plan target of 25% of salary and Annual Equity target of 25% of salary. Actual compensation offered will be based on experience and skills. Salaries may be adjusted by market in CA, NY Metro, and Seattle. Eligibility requirements and notice: You must be 18 years or older. You must have a high school diploma or equivalent. You must be willing to undergo background checks and related onboarding requirements. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor visas.
