Responsible for all aspects of the Store’s operations. Lead the entire operation of the Store to ensure that Company standards and best practices are consistently met. Staff, train and develop the leadership team to deliver sales and profit results while maintaining a friendly, easy-to-shop environment. Recruit, train and develop Associates. Manage the operations of the Stockroom, Front End, and Sales Floor to ensure timely merchandise reception, proper goods receipt, and control expenses through best practices and productivity. Essential Functions

General Operating Requirements

Lead all Company Best Practices and maximize productivity by minimizing steps and touches while working. Analyze Store reports to evaluate controllable expenses and overall Store performance. Address variances from Company standards with an appropriate action plan, in partnership with the District Manager as needed. Ensure proper scheduling of Associates to meet business objectives. Accept special assignments as directed by Leadership. Responsible for payroll administration including daily punch edits, scheduling compliance, Sunday payroll transmission, and payroll reporting as needed. Organizational Development

Recruit, hire, train and develop Assistant Managers, Area Supervisors and non-exempt Associates. Reduce Store turnover through selection, training and motivation; promote retention tools and ensure required trainings are prioritized and completed timely. Address personnel and performance issues including coaching, warnings, progressive discipline and termination when needed. Ensure compliance with Ross personnel policies and procedures. Manage Associate relations issues, consulting with the District Manager as needed. Ensure compliance with all State, Local and Federal regulations. Expense Control

Lead all expenditures to be within budget. Control payroll hours as the primary controllable expense and adjust to current business trends. Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment

Maintain adherence to Company safety policies and ensure the safety of Associates and Customers. Ensure all Associates understand and can execute emergency operating procedures. Customer Service

Treat all Customers, Associates, and leaders with respect. Demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism; recognize Associates using Company programs. Execute Customer service programs and Merchandise Presentation programs through training and supervision. Supervise and coach Retail Associates in providing efficient and friendly service at registers, Customer Service desks, fitting rooms, and sales floor. Personal And Store Brand

Lead and model professional appearance according to the Company Dress Code and reinforce it at all times. Represent and support the Company brand at all times. Maintain a clean, neat, and easy-to-shop store environment and high housekeeping standards with maintenance staff support. Merchandise Processing and In-Store Marketing

Ensure recovery, sizing and markdowns meet Company standards; present merchandise per guidelines; manage processing to the sales floor within Company timeframes. Loss Prevention

Train Associates on Loss Prevention programs to achieve store shortage goals; safeguard confidential information and assets; lead annual inventory and monitor stock policies. Competencies

Five or more years of Store management experience in retail. High level of Customer service. Ability to lead, manage, motivate and communicate positively to Store Associates at all levels. Ability to train, coach and develop Associates at all levels. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, develop a schedule and execute to achieve results. Fluency in English. Independent judgement and discretion. Ability to work evenings and weekends. Physical Requirements and ADA

Ability to use all Store equipment, spend up to 100% of working time standing and moving in the Store; ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach and stoop; occasional lifting over 25 lbs; ability to use janitorial equipment and ladders; basic arithmetic required. Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct supervision of Assistant Store Manager, Area Supervisors and all Retail Associates. Some assignments may require additional qualifications. Disclaimer
