Overview
Responsible for all aspects of the Store's operations. Leads the entire operation of the Store to ensure that Company standards and best practices are consistently met. Recruits, trains and develops leadership to deliver sales and profit results while maintaining a friendly, easy-to-shop environment. Manages the operations of the Stockroom, Front End, and Sales Floor to ensure timely merchandise placement, proper receipts, and expense control through best practices and productivity.
General Purpose
Responsibilities include operating the Store consistent with Company standards, hiring and developing the leadership team, and managing Store processes to meet sales and profit objectives.
Essential Functions
General Operating Requirements
Lead all Company Best Practices and maximize productivity by minimizing steps and touches while working.
Analyze Store reports to evaluate controllable expenses and overall Store performance.
Address variances to Company standards with action plans, partnering with the District Manager as needed.
Ensure proper scheduling of Associates to meet business objectives.
Accept special assignments as directed by Leadership.
Responsible for payroll administration including daily punch edits, scheduling compliance, Sunday payroll transmission, and Payroll reporting as needed.
Organizational Development
Recruit, hire, train and develop Assistant Managers, Area Supervisors and non-exempt Associates.
Strive to reduce Store turnover through selection, training and motivation; promote retention tools and ensure required training is completed timely.
Address personnel and performance issues including coaching, warnings, progressive discipline and termination when needed.
Ensure compliance with Ross personnel policies and procedures.
Manage Associate relations issues in consultation with the District Manager.
Ensure compliance with all State, Local and Federal regulations.
Expense Control
Lead expenditures within budget and control payroll hours as the primary controllable expense, adjusting to business trends.
Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment
Adhere to Company safety policies and ensure the safety of Associates and Customers.
Ensure Associates understand and can execute emergency operating procedures.
Customer Service
Treat Customers and Associates with respect; demonstrate courtesy, friendliness and professionalism.
Recognize Associates using Company recognition programs.
Execute Customer service and Merchandise Presentation programs through training and supervision.
Supervise and coach Retail Associates in providing efficient and friendly service at registers, Customer Service desk, fitting rooms, and sales floor.
Personal And Store Brand
Lead and model a professional appearance per Company Dress Code; reinforce it at all times.
Represent and support the Company brand; maintain a clean, neat, easy-to-shop environment.
Maintain high housekeeping standards with maintenance personnel and Ross Associates.
Merchandise Processing and In-Store Marketing
Ensure recovery, sizing and markdowns meet Company standards; present merchandise according to guidelines; process merchandise to the floor within standard timelines.
Loss Prevention
Train Associates on Loss Prevention programs to achieve Store shortages goals.
Safeguard confidential information, cash and merchandise; maintain high Customer and Associate engagement and Loss Prevention awareness.
Lead the annual inventory process and monitor mark-out-of-stock policies.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
Five or more years of Store management experience in a retail environment.
Maintain a high level of Customer service and able to lead, manage, motivate and communicate positively to Store Associates at all levels.
Ability to train, coach and develop Associates at all levels; organize and prioritize tasks to accomplish goals.
Fluency in English; use independent judgement and discretion.
Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements/Ada
Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs.
Stand and move around the Store up to 100% of working time; frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, carrying, reaching, and stooping.
Occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 lbs; operate janitorial equipment and ladders.
Perform basic retail calculations.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct supervision of Assistant Store Manager, Area Supervisors and all Retail Associates; other qualifications may apply.
