Overview
General Purpose: Responsible for all aspects of the stores\' operations. Lead the entire operation of the store to ensure that company standards and best practices are consistently met. Staff, train and develop leadership to deliver sales and profit results while maintaining a friendly, easy-to-shop environment. Recruit, train and develop Associates. Manage the operations of the Stockroom, Front End, and Sales Floor to ensure new merchandise gets to the sales floor in a timely manner and to control expenses through best practices and productivity. Essential Functions
General Operating Requirements: Lead all company best practices and maximize productivity by minimizing steps and touches while working. Analyze store reports to evaluate controllable expenses and overall store performance. Address variances to company standards with appropriate action plans, partnering with the District Manager as needed. Ensure proper scheduling of Associates to meet business objectives. Accept special assignments as directed by Leadership. Responsible for payroll administration including daily punch edits, scheduling compliance, Sunday payroll transmission, and payroll reporting as needed. Organizational Development: Recruit, hires, trains and develops Assistant Managers, Area Supervisors and non-exempt Associates. Promote retention through training, incentives, recognition, contests and timely completion of required training. Address personnel and performance issues including coaching, warnings, progressive discipline and termination when needed. Ensure compliance with Ross personnel policies and procedures. Manage Associate relations issues, consulting with the District Manager as needed. Ensure compliance with all State, Local and Federal regulations. Expense Control: Lead expenditures to stay within budget; manage payroll hours as the primary controllable expense and adjust to business trends. Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment: Adhere to safety policies and ensure safety of Associates and Customers; ensure emergency operating procedures are understood and executable. Customer Service: Treat customers, Associates and leaders with respect; demonstrate courtesy, friendliness and professionalism; execute customer service and merchandise presentation programs through training and supervision; supervise and coach associates in delivering service at registers, customer service desk, fitting rooms, and sales floor. Personal and Store Brand: Model professional appearance per Dress Code; represent and support the company brand; maintain a clean, easy-to-shop store environment and high housekeeping standards. Merchandise Processing and In-Store Marketing: Ensure recovery, sizing and markdowns meet company standards; present merchandise per guidelines; manage processing to the floor within the expected timeframe. Loss Prevention: Train associates on loss prevention programs; safeguard information and merchandise; lead annual inventory process; monitor stock and shrink policies. Competencies: Include work process management, business acumen, planning and prioritizing, talent building, collaboration, leadership by example, communication, accountability and execution. Qualifications and Special Skills: Five+ years of store management experience in retail; high level of customer service; ability to lead, motivate and communicate with store associates; ability to train and develop staff; organizational and prioritization skills; English fluency; independent judgement; ability to work evenings and weekends. Physical Requirements/ADA: Ability to use store equipment; stand/walk up to 100%; ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, lift up to 25 lbs; ability to perform basic math; other qualifications as required.
