Responsible for all aspects of the store's operations. Lead the entire operation of the store to ensure that Company standards and best practices are consistently met. Staff, train and develop the leadership team to deliver desired sales and profit results, while maintaining a friendly, easy-to-shop environment. Recruit, train and develop Associates. Manage the operations of the stockroom, front end, and sales floor to ensure new merchandise reaches the sales floor in a timely manner, goods are received properly, and expenses are controlled through execution of best practices and productivity. Essential Functions
General Operating Requirements
Lead all Company Best Practices and maximize productivity by minimizing steps and touches while working. Analyze Store reports to evaluate controllable expenses and overall Store performance. Address variances to Company standards with an appropriate action plan, partnering with the District Manager as needed. Ensure proper scheduling of Associates to meet business objectives. Accept special assignments as directed by Leadership. Responsible for payroll administration including daily punch edits, Associate scheduling compliance, Sunday payroll transmission, and payroll reporting as needed. Organizational Development
Recruit, hire, train and develop Assistant Managers, Area Supervisors and non-exempt Associates. Reduce Store turnover through selection, training and motivation; utilize retention tools including incentive programs, recognition opportunities, contests and training; ensure all required training is prioritized and completed timely. Address personnel and performance issues including coaching, verbal and written warnings, progressive discipline and termination when needed. Ensure compliance with Ross personnel policies and procedures. Manage Associate Relations issues, consulting with the District Manager as needed. Ensure compliance with all State, Local and Federal regulations. Expense Control
Lead all expenditures to be within budget. Control payroll hours as a primary controllable expense and adjust to current business trends. Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment
Maintain adherence to Company safety policies and ensure the safety of Associates and Customers. Ensure all Associates understand and can execute emergency operating procedures. Customer Service
Treat all Customers, Associates, and other leaders with respect. Demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times; recognize Associates using Company recognition programs. Execute Customer service and Merchandise Presentation programs through Associate training and program supervision. Supervise and coach Retail Associates in providing efficient and friendly service at registers, the Customer Service desk, fitting rooms, and the sales floor. Personal And Store Brand
Lead Store Associates in and model a professional appearance per Company Dress Code; reinforce the Dress Code at all times. Represent and support the Company brand at all times. Maintain a clean, neat, easy-to-shop environment. Maintain a high standard of housekeeping with help from contracted maintenance personnel and Ross Associates. Merchandise Processing and In-Store Marketing
Ensure recovery, sizing and markdowns are completed to Company standards through teaching, task assignment, and follow-up. Present and organize merchandise according to Company merchandising guidelines. Urgently manage merchandise processing to the sales floor within the expected Company timeframe. Loss Prevention
Train Associates on Loss Prevention programs to achieve Store shortage goals. Demonstrate integrity and protect confidential information, cash, credit card data, and merchandise. Lead the annual inventory process and manage store Loss Prevention, including a strong customer-service presence and heightened awareness. Monitor mark-out-of-stock policy to ensure proper administration. Competencies

Five or more years of Store management experience in a retail environment. High level of customer service. Ability to lead, manage, motivate and communicate positively to Store Associates at all levels. Ability to train, coach and develop Associates at all levels. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, develop a schedule, and execute to achieve results. Fluency in English. Must exercise considerable independent judgement and discretion. Ability to work evenings and weekends. Physical Requirements/ADA
Ability to use all store equipment, stand and move around the store up to 100% of working time; ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach and stoop; ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 lbs; ability to use janitorial equipment and ladders; ability to perform basic retail calculations.
